When we moved into our house, there were no fences. Over the years, some have been installed by the bordering neighbors. This one, on the east side of my yard, has been really appreciated by me. It makes a great backdrop for my garden, which is visible from my back door and deck. Here are pictures of it through the seasons.

I'm not a fan of fences - unless they can be put to use architecturally or as part of garden. Nice job of making a lemon into lemonade!
ReplyDeleteAs a backdrop your fence is lovely. I have thought about having a fence put in for years....it would help control the deer that eat in my veggie garden.

Yes, your fence is a wonderful backdrop for your garden. It's picture perfect. Great post. I love wooden fences.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snow photograph. Your hostas in the first image look remarkably un-nibbled, how lucky.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really nice fence - no wonder you like it! We've just had some fencing put up, but it's new and raw. It needs to weather a bit, and have some plants climbing up it!
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of the song Don't Fencer Me In; and the famous quote, "Fences make good neighbors."
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
